Process. I’m finding myself more and more thinking about, and absorbed by process. For me it is like the treadmill of life, it is what makes us who we are right now. Every interaction, exchange, relationship, decision, breath or thought is another layer, another step in your process. I heard someone say the other day, the goal is the process, I like that.
Now what has all this got to do with DI? Well, DI presents intelligent articles about people who practise design ideas, or are involved in design or art movements. It takes you beyond the name and face and into the process and thinking behind their ideas and inspiration.
In this issue we go on an old-modern journey where you meet emerging product designer Alex Gilmour, winner of the Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards (SOYA) and director of Evie Group. Creative Director, Adrian Weller, explains Ascender’s process and approach to naming in his piece - What’s in a name? Greg Wright captures the essence of the Sydney School, a Sydney architectural movement from the 1950s inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and spearheaded by Australian architect Ross Thorne. While you enjoy our first edition of DI, we’ll be in the process of brainstorming our next edition.
Till then take care.
